USFS pic.docxThis month one of the U.S. Coast Guard HC-130H aircraft that is being transferred to the U.S. Forest Service arrived at the Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) in Elizabeth City, NC following depot work and a new U.S. Forest Service paint job completed at the U.S. Air Force Warner Robins ALC. After a short period in Elizabeth City for mission preparation, the aircraft will ferry to the U.S. Forest Service Air Station in McClellan Air Park, CA from where it will operate as an air tanker for wildland fire management operations using a roll-on Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System II (MAFFS II) until a permanent retardant delivery system is installed.
